Finnish researchers to develop Saliva testing device.

Science: Saliva testing is expected to be an increasingly important diagnostic tool in the future. It is difficult to take blood tests from children and the elderly, for instance. Taking saliva is much less invasive than a blood test, especially for children and the elderly. The Laboratory of Biotechnology in Sotkamo is developing a device that measures infection and stress levels based on the analysis of saliva. The first applications are to be in sports medicine.
